In the year of the Covid, we were getting bored at home, and I had the bright idea that it was about time I picked up my dream car. Always a part of the custom import scene, this was the pinnacle for me and still the super car killer and one of the most featured race cars on games, movies, and in real life.

I found this beast during a nationwide search, ultimately landing in Wisconsin. There, a dealer had taken this in on trade towards a Ferrari. The dealer didn't know what he had. I made some calls and arranged for a local Nissan dealer to inspect before I flew out. They reported back a healthy and well maintained 2010 Nissan R35. But they also let me know about many of the modifications. She was already sitting on horsepower in 800 range FBO (full bolt on, plus), though they just gave me the shopping list of parts...intake, exhaust, and more.

I got there as quickly as I could, took the most amazing test drive of my life and bought this car for a steal. To date, it has been our most profitable automotive investment. Red and fast. The 14-hour drive home was like being in a video game.

She didn't need much done, but I had a local tuner shop inspect, and re-tune and dyno to be safe, especially coming up to altitude in Colorado. It left there even more perfect, and I simply started addressing cosmetic issues.

The guys at the now closed Sigma Kore in Centennial completed full paint correction and ceramic coating. The red came out better than when it left the factory. I then had the OEM wheels acid bathed, powder coated bronze, then ceramic coated as well. From there, giving this thing a bath was as simple as spray foam, rinse, repeat, then dry with a leaf blower. Dirt and brake dust just fell off.

The only other thing we did was to pickup a Nismo engine cover and to drive the hell out of her until we sold 1.5 years later after a lot of fun. The new owners did right by the car, taking a saw to the body immediately, adding a wide body kit, one-off wheels, custom spoiler, customer interface, and more. We left this car in good hands and made a profit to own and drive my dream car.
